Join the Sea Scouts
Join Sea Scout Ship 1 of Greenwich to learn essential boating skills, as well as the importance of preservation and stewardship of our natural resources. Our relationship with the Indian Harbor Yacht Club and our motivated staff of volunteers, offers the very best in a variety of sail and motorboat instruction. We are also fortunate to have local friends such as Sound Waters and the Audubon Society to enhance our education mission.
Advancements & Opportunities
One major lesson taught in the Sea Scouts is that of dedication and order. Our Sea Scouts have the opportunity to earn valuable certifications and advancements in rank, marking their growth as sailors and leaders. The advancement central system sets young Sea Scouts up for success as they strive towards Apprentice rank, Ordinary rank, Able rank, and Quartermaster rank.

Our Guiding Principles
The Scout Oath
On my honor I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times; and
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
The Scout Law
The Sea Promise
A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
As a Sea Scout, I promise to do my best:
To guard against water accidents
To know the location and proper use of the lifesaving devices on every boat I board
To be prepared to render aid to those in need
To let those less able come first.
